About: Christiane Eisler is a photographer based in Leipzig. She extensively documented the punk scene in Leipzig and Berlin throughout the 80s and followed some of the protagonists until today.
The book shows 20 portraits (in fold-out pages) of the main figures of a very small underground scene and their activities under an oppressive state that prohibited freedom of expression. It contains biographical essays from Christiane Eisler and the main characters telling their life stories under these circumstances and how the Stasi – (the GDR secret service) destroyed some of their lives. The title of the book „Wutanfall“ (rage attack) refers to a band name from an important Leipzig punk band.“
